Of the 78 awards Salt of the Earth has won so far, 10 belong to Ocean & Coconut, making it our most-awarded fragrance and second only to our Unscented range overall. Judges at Marie Claire UK, Top Santé, Natural Health, Woman & Home and Vegan Food & Living have all reached the same conclusion as thousands of our customers: this one is a bit special.
Salt of the Earth is an independent, family-run company that has been making natural deodorants since 1993, at our factory in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire. Every Ocean & Coconut deodorant is certified 100% COSMOS Natural by the Soil Association, registered with The Vegan Society and Cruelty Free International. What does Ocean & Coconut smell like?
Ocean & Coconut blends soft, ocean-style notes with a touch of melon and creamy coconut. The fragrance opens with coconut and melon, softens into violet and jasmine, and settles on a warm base of vanilla and coumarin. The result is fresh rather than sugary: think sea air and sun cream, not piña colada.
It is the closest thing we make to a holiday in a bottle, which may explain why it took the top spot as our most-awarded single fragrance.

Ocean & Coconut Deodorant Sticks
For a solid option, the Ocean & Coconut Deodorant Stick, Use or Refill (£9.99) comes in plastic-free packaging and works on its own or as a refill for our stick container. There is also the Ocean & Coconut Natural Deodorant Stick 84g (£11.49) in its twist-up case. Why do refillable deodorants keep winning awards?
We think it comes down to a simple idea: a deodorant that works, smells wonderful and does not ask you to bin a bottle every month. Our refill system has been running since 2013, and it reduces the plastic you buy while saving you money per application compared with buying a new full-size product each time. Judges tend to notice details like that. So do customers.
Awards are lovely, but they are really a by-product of iteration. We are constantly tweaking and improving our formulas, and Ocean & Coconut has been refined over the years into the scent that keeps collecting trophies.
