It's our first new permanent fragrance in nearly two years, it has quietly become the team favourite at our factory in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire, and a few early testers have told us it might give Ocean & Coconut, our best-selling scented fragrance, a run for its money. What does Aloe & Lime smell like?

Crisp, green and citrusy, with a warm finish. It opens with a zesty burst of lime and green freshness, then softens into gentle hints of vanilla and clove. Why has it become a team favourite?

Partly because we have been living with it for months, and it has not got old. It is also the first new fragrance to join the permanent range since Oud & Bergamot in November 2024, so there is a bit of ceremony about it. Some early customers have told us it might even beat Ocean & Coconut for them.

Is Aloe & Lime a natural deodorant?

Yes. Aloe & Lime uses the same formula as the rest of our sprays and roll-ons: made with 100% natural origin ingredients and certified 100% COSMOS Natural by the Soil Association. The fragrance comes from natural essential oils and botanical extracts, and the formula is made with aloe vera. It is a deodorant rather than an antiperspirant, so natural mineral salts help tackle odour-causing bacteria without blocking pores. Salt of the Earth has made natural deodorants since 1993, and we still make every spray and roll-on ourselves at our factory in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire.

Is Aloe & Lime cruelty-free and vegan?

Yes. Like all our sprays and roll-ons, Aloe & Lime is approved by Cruelty Free International and registered with the Vegan Society. Those are independent third-party approvals, not our own badges, which is the point of them.

Is Aloe & Lime a sustainable choice of deodorant?

Here is what we can say specifically, rather than in general. Both Aloe & Lime formats are refillable, and the 300ml refill pouch uses up to 85% less plastic than three new sprays, based on packaging weight. It is made in Hampshire, not shipped in from overseas, in a factory that has run on renewable electricity since 2020. Salt of the Earth is a certified B Corporation, a Living Wage employer and holder of two King's Awards for Enterprise: International Trade in 2025 and Sustainable Development in 2026. We have been refilling since 2013, well before it was fashionable, and our refills have replaced around 2.3 million bottle equivalents so far. No subscription required, no locked-in system.
